JASPER HOFFMAN

As a former member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Mennonite Church, Jasper is considered one of the leading experts on hidden abuse crimes within the Amish and Mennonite churches. Her work has made international headlines and continues to grow with The Plain People’s Scholarship Foundation, coming in 2024. Collaborating with other organizations she has designed several appropriate non threatening resources for Amish and plain people world-wide.

Recently featured in the Peacock original documentary Sins of The Amish airing May 2022, Jasper has dedicated her efforts to engage the attention of the outside world to create impactful and empowering change for women forgotten within the confines of high demand coercive religion. Making history alongside former Amish and friend Misty Griffin, Jasper was the first former Mennonite woman to bring awareness of the abuse within the Plain communities to our nation’s Capital and congress in Washington D.C. in 2021.

She resides in the greater Nashville,Tennessee area and is currently working towards her Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning Certification through PATH International. Jasper credits her success to her sheer tenacity, a deep desire to serve others and the gratitude of having a voice after decades of silent repression under religious men.

  • LEANNE METE

    TRANSCRIPTIONIST

Leanne is returning for another season as our resident show transcriptionist, and currently lives in Australia after moving with her family in 2016 from her native island of New Zealand. She’s our favorite Kiwi.

After stumbling across The Plain People's Podcast, Leanne offered her typing skills to produce comprehensive transcripts, making the show more accessible to all.

Leanne asks that since she speaks Australian/NZ English, to please excuse any unAmerican spelling, but frankly adding that in with PA Dutch just makes it even more fun!
